An?incredibly detailed?stick pin from the Victorian (ca1880) era! The?wonderful 18kt gold pin?is richly enameled,?portraying the face of a lovable bulldog. His expressive face includes superb hand-painted features, including wrinkles, whiskers, an underbite, and floppy ears. A pair of?sparkling diamonds represent each of his eyes- a beautiful finishing touch! Two small hallmarks are stamped on the side of the long gold stick pin. The piece resides in an antique purple velvet box, which is stamped "The PARISIAN JEWELRY CO. 413 Nicollet Ave. Minneapolis" inside the lid. This is an exceptional collector's piece that combines a charming design with superior craftsmanship!
Measurements: The stickpin measures 2 3/4" in total length. The bulldog's face?measures 1/2" tall and wide, and is about 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the stickpin is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to the enamel detail, which is free of ?noticeable chips or scratches. Both?diamonds are intact and securely set. The shows some normal signs of surface wear commensurate with age, but remains in good condition. The button clasp and lid fastens securely shut.
