A fabulous jade ring from the late Victorian (ca1900) era! This lovely piece features a relatively large jade stone that rests within?an 18kt yellow gold mounting. The incredible stone displays a smoothly polished surface and is carved into a dramatic elongated navette shape. The jade exhibits a vibrant green color with subtle milky inclusions throughout. The mounting that surrounds the claw-set stone is adorned with delicate round cutouts, adding a lovely feminine touch. A beautiful etched design decorates the split-shank shoulders, while lovely milgrain work adds further embellishment. Finishing the design is a smoothly polished band that wraps around the back, and stamped inside of the shank is an "18" gold purity mark besides a maker's mark. When worn, the substantial size and appearance of the ring makes quite a striking statement. Perfect for the jade collector, this gorgeous ring would make a very special accessory!
